DRIP COURSE
The course is focused on the essentials to get you started with 3D. I will not explain every little button in Cinema 4D, but I will just show you what you need to begin with to get results. Once you get the bug, you can develop your specific style and preferences.

We will build six kinetic characters from scratch to later model and animate them. After that, we will create perfect and seamless character loops and render them with Octane. They will weave together the right dose of realism and cute design. This mini-project can become your perfect entry into the world of 3D I will also share with you my approach to work in 3D and my experience of learning by trying out and doing.

Let's unleash your creativity and use Cinema 4D to make something eye-catching and cool together!

COURSE CURRICULUM
What will I learn in this course?
Section #1
We will build this rolling character, which is going from a happy face to an unhappy face. You will take your first steps into animating a seamless loop, based on a rolling cylinder.
Section #2
Let's make this flipping donut. These lessons are an introduction into flipping and rolling of a primitive form, like this donut.
Section #3
We will create this wavy dude, using the volume builder. We will animate this sine wave wall and roll the eyes along this spline.
Section #4
These lessons focus on building these split personalities. We will make a row of animation loops using half-cylinders.
Section #5
Happy/Sad is rolling along a rail. We will build and animate the character and the base.
Section #6
This one is called Face-Down and is one of my favorites. We'll make it roll from one object to another in a seamless loop.

I've been working as a designer and animation director for over 15 years. I have directed and animated spots for Google, Amazon, Wimbledon, Barclays, Pilot Pens and many more. I also do lots of free self-initiated projects, such as the children brand YATATOY, which I founded in 2010.

In the last years I focused on 3D software and became obsessed with creating seamless loops and abstract characters. And I would like to show you this process step-by-step!

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find Cinema 4D?
You can find Cinema4D here.

The trial version will be sufficient to work with for some time, but we highly recommend buying a license.
What renderer will be used in this course?
We will use Octane, but you can use any renderer for this course (standard Physical, Redshift, etc).
The main principles are the same.
What system requirements are needed for Cinema 4D to run smoothly?
Minimum System Requirements Cinema 4D
Windows 7 SP1 64-bit or higher on Intel or AMD 64-bit CPU with SSE3 support or MacOS 10.11.6 or 10.12.4+ with 64-bit CPU running on Intel-based Apple Macintosh 4 GB RAM (8 GB or more recommended), OpenGL graphics card supporting OpenGL 4.1 (dedicated GPU recommended)

The GPU renderer requires an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card on Windows or AMD on MacOS that supports OpenCL 1.2 or newer. Metal support requires MacOS 10.13.2 or newer. We recommend at least 4 GB VRAM for GPU rendering.
Will this course work for me if I know nothing about Cinema4D?
Yes, the course is built for beginners, bringing them up to an basic level.
Are there any discounts?
If no presale or discount activities happening, you can get in touch with us to receive a -$50 coupon. We provide coupons for countries with not so good exchange rates and for students.

We consider a country with a not so good exchange rate if the currency rate in a country is more than $1 to 10 units of local currency. For example, 10.5 Botswana Pula equals $1. If your country's currency rate is lower than 1:10, then we do not consider your country as a country with a not so good exchange rate.

We consider you a student if you have a valid student email address (@***.edu) and/or a valid student ID. Please either write to us from your student email or attach a picture of your student ID so that we can verify your student status.

Please double check if there are no presale, sales or discount activities happening as we do not provide coupons during these periods.
Can I get a refund?
If you're disappointed for whatever reason, you'll get every cent back within 14 days after the purchase. Whether you select to complete the purchase in a single or in several payments.

Note that it only applies to purchases without a discount. So if you would like to use a discount coupon or complete a purchase of several products with a discount, you will be not eligible for the refund.
Can I share the art that I create during the course?
Yes, all the artwork that you create on the course belongs to you. You can share and tweet and dribble whatever animation you create. We would be grateful if you mention our school while sharing, we have @motiondesignschool accounts almost on every network.
How long does it take to successfully finish the course?
It usually takes at least 8 hours per week for three months for a student to get to the final stage. We do recommend you to spend as much time as possible since you are gaining new skills here, it's never an easy journey.
